What’s going on at the library? SO glad you asked.

A come-and-go retirement celebration hosted by the City of Chandler for Sandy Helm, assistant/children’s librarian, will be on Friday, January 20 beginning at 2 pm. Come and thank her for her years of service!

Bring Your Child to the Library Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of February every year. On February 4 during library hours, 9 – 12 am, you can make a craft, get a special gift for completing our Library Scavenger Hunt, grab a snack, add a block to our tower for every book you check out, and receive a sticker for being part of our first Bring Your Child to the Library Day. You can also sign up for the 1KB4K (1000 Books Before Kindergarten) early literacy challenge!

If you have been using Overdrive for the Oklahoma Virtual Library eBooks, please be aware that it is being phased and replaced by Libby by the end of April. You should download the Libby app and log in. If you need help, of course, you can come by and we will help.

Oh, and of course – the new books in this month! We have the new Brad Meltzer non-fiction, Nazi Conspiracy, two new Danielle Steel books, The Whittiers and Without a Trace, or check out Wrong Place, Wrong Time, by Gillian McAlister. Also in this week: Clive Cussler: The Sea Wolves, Jack Du Brul, Daughter of Dr. Moreau¸ Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Forbidden, T. Davis Bunn, House Across the Lake, Riley Sager, Now is Not the Time to Panic, Kevin Wilson, Sleep No More, Jayne Ann Krentz, Wyoming Homecoming, Diana Palmer, and One Italian Summer, Rebecca Serle.
